About Better Stands
The Better Stands framework:
Better Stands is underpinned by a framework, consisting of a 10-point checklist, for assessing stands according to how reusable they are. Better Stands can be assessed as Bronze, Silver or Gold standard.
The structure of the framework facilitates a gradual transition to 100% reusable stands, with different elements of stand construction and appearance relevant to each level.

What are the benefits of the Better Stands framework?
To have a framwork that adapts to almost all types of build.
To be relevant to both those new to sustainability, as well as those pioneering.
To be specific enough for consistency, yet flexible enough for widespread use.
To be able to identify room for improvement which enables change.
To celebrate each step towards becoming fully reusable.
To prioritise focus on the most impactful elements of a stands build.
How can a stand be assessed?
There are two ways in which a stand can be assessed against the Better Stands Framework, either through an onsite assessment during an event, or through submitting information for assessment pre-event as a part of the pre-certification process.

Pre-event assessments
The pre-event assessment process allows service providers and exhibitors to submit details of their stands build methods for assessment against the Better Stands framework before the event. This allows them to communicate and celebrate the achieved Better Stands level during the event.
Onsite assessments
An onsite assessment is arranged by the event’s organiser, and is where they facilitate the process of stands (either some or all) being assessed against the Better Stands framework, largely during the dismantle phase. This process enables organisers to gain insight in to how reusable the stands at their event are, to engage their service providers and exhibitors with bespoke and informed communications, and to celebrate the use of reusable stands at their event. All leading to the continual improvement in the level of reusable stands at the event.
